Steel Ornamental Fence Hinges
Plenty of little parts or fittings will need to be considered when installing a steel ornamental fence. The hinges are one of the most essential fittings for the functionality of your fence and gate. Female and male hinges are essential to the swing function of a steel ornamental gate. While the black powder-coated hinges are more popular for steel ornamental fencing, the standard galvanized steel hinges are available should you choose.
Female Gate Hinges
Female hinges or frame hinges are used for swinging gates. These attach to the gate post or frame and are one of two parts that allow the gate to swing. All female hinges are galvanized steel, which will not rust, and some have black powder-coated for extra protection and visual appeal. Female hinges are offered individually or in pairs. These are available for various post sizes, though all have a pintle hole size of 5/8".
Male Gate Hinges
Male hinges attach to the fence post, and the pintle sits internally to the pintle hole of the female hinge. This is the other part of the swing gate assembly for a steel ornamental fencing system. All male hinges are galvanized steel, which will not rust, and some have black powder-coated for extra protection and visual appeal. Male hinges are offered individually or in pairs. These are available for various post sizes, but all have a pintle size of 5/8".
