This 3 1/2" sq. dome cap fits on top of your 4" x 4" (nominal size) posts, providing protection from rotting by keeping water from soaking the top of the posts and preventing harsh UV rays from prematurely damaging your posts. Disclaimer: These Post Caps are made for the exact size as advertised. For installation in extremely cold temperatures, we highly recommend using glue to secure the post cap to the post.
